Manganese carbonate ore is a kind of marine sediment in gray shale. The content of manganse in manganese carbonate ore is 15-25%. The content of iron is 9-10%, phosphorus is 0.046%. Manganese carbonate ore is a low-manganese, low-phosphorus, high- iron semi-self-fluxing manganese ore.

We built a flotation plant which can process 600,000 tons lean manganese carbonate ore in 1988. Flotation equipment adopted is flotation column. In 1993, the process cyclone desliming – flotation is converted into strong manganese separation-flotation. There was a good indicator of industrial test and transition to industrial production. Manganese separator is the most commonly used beneficiation equipment.
